Historical records dating back to 1256 refer to the production of wines at the confluence of river Ceira, Gouvinhas, Sabrosa. It is in this environment of outstanding natural beauty classified as World Heritage by UNESCO, that both Quinta FozCeira and Quinta da Costa de Baixo, produce wines, combining quality and heritage, which includes Pombaline landmarks from the oldest demarcated region in the world (1756 – Douro Demarcated Region).

The edaphoclimatic conditions of the place ensures the highest ranking quality potential of the region (class A). In fact year after year, the old vines, consisting of a wide variety of grapes indigenous to the region, together with the most recently planted vines, including varieties such as Touriga Nacional and Touriga Franca, grow grapes of the highest standard allowing the production of complex and concentrated wines of the finest quality.The vineyards are treated on site in order to maintain the balance and resilience of plants in harmony with the surrounding environment, ensuring compliance with all environmental regulations.
